Many ways to support Revels through volunteering.
Some people like to do one task a year (a mailing party, for instance).
Others try multiple different tasks during the year. Some people like to just work on The Christmas Revels in some capacity. Some want to help with projects at other (less hectic!) times of the year. Others take on an on-going role: board member, committee member, etc.
We encourage you to fill our our Abbots Bromley Guild questionnaire and send it to us so we know what you are interested in doing and when you are usually available. Or use this link to sign up directly for volunteer opportunities. There is a place for everyone. Please contact us if you are interested in seeing how your gifts and interests might work well with our needs.
Below are some ways to participate as a Revels Volunteer
Serve on the Revels Board of Trustees or on a committee (Committees include: are Development, Volunteer, Events, Publicity; Help with Mailings (envelope stuffing mostly, sometimes we need folks to hand write addresses); Computer-assistance (database expertise, data entry skills, web skills, social media skills); Office Help – copying, addressing envelopes, mailing, organizing, telephoning, email, etc; Special Events (events include our annual “Envisioning Revels” Brunch; salons; Tacoma Sings; pub sings; May Day; the Abbots Bromliad; and receptions.
The Abbots Bromley Horn Dance, a prominent part of most Christmas Revels, has been danced in the village of Abbots Bromley, England, for centuries. We thought it was fun to name our volunteer group after this enduring and much-loved dance, hence the Abbots Bromley Guild.
